I am an experienced and professionally trained scientific, technical and medical (STM) copy-editor, specialising in academic and educational publications, and journal production.

My experience ranges from working on a suite of journals for Blackwell Publishing, to government guidance for the National Curriculum Council, and managing the Joseph Rowntree list for a small, independent publishing house in York. I therefore have the knowledge and skills to adapt to projects of any size and in any subject area.

My experience and flexibility have allowed me to maintain a portfolio of high-profile clients, including HarperCollins, Wiley-Blackwell and English Heritage, during almost 20 years as a freelance editor. I have worked on projects ranging from a pamphlet on landscape survey, to a small series of educational books on agriculture in Botswana, to the regular flow of copy for monthly scientific journals.

In 2012 I completed a PhD in archaeology, so I can now bring personal experience as an author and researcher to my work, along with a new breadth of knowledge.
